About Sean…

Sean Saldaña is an audio producer, journalist and writer who lives in Austin, TX.

He learned to cut and mix audio working at NPR’s Morning Edition. He’s now an Associate Producer and Reporter with the Texas Standard, a show about Texas news, politics, and culture.

Sean has also worked as a temporary producer for the Planet Money podcast.

Sean’s reporting has appeared on Morning Edition, WBUR’s Here & Now, the Texas Standard, KUT and dozens of local NPR stations across the Lone Star State.

His reporting interests are business, economics, Black history and Texas culture.

Sean has won awards for his reporting on vehicle inspections, Texas cryptids, and the legacy of America’s most famous labor organizer.

He has also developed an audio storytelling guide for anybody interested in radio journalism.

In his free time, Sean plays pickup soccer, writes short stories and works at Thom’s Market.
